Bank PO: Meaning, Work, Salary, How to become a Bank PO

What is Bank PO?

Bank PO is a Scale-I level officer in a bank. And the full form of Bank PO is Bank Probationary Officer. If you want to start your career in bank at management level then you can start with the post of Bank PO.

Work

The main job of a bank PO is to provide loans to the customers. However, he can also perform other banking operations related to ATM card, passbook, finance, savings account, salary account etc.

Salary

If you become PO in any bank under IBPS, your basic salary will be Rs 36000 per month. You will also get HRA, DA and other allowances. You will get total salary around Rs 52000 per month.

How to become a Bank PO

To become a PO in any bank, you have to first complete your graduation and then appear for the entrance exam or interview conducted by the concerned bank. If you want to get a job in a government bank, you can appear for the entrance exam of IBPS, through which 11 public sector banks recruit candidates for the post of Bank PO.

Also, note that the age criteria for IBPS is 20 years to 30 years. However, there is relaxation for SC/ST/PWD and Ex-Servicemen officers.
